National Board Certification
There are currently four national board certified physical education teachers from the state of Tennessee:
- Tina M. Bozeman
- Kathy Clark
- Cam Kerst Davis
- Christy Killman
"The National Board Certification process was an incredible professional
development opportunity. While it was the most rigorous voluntary
assessment of my professional career, it also proved to be the most
rewarding. Those who achieve National Board Certification are considered
the most elite in their profession. It is truly an honor to serve with
the best Physical Education teachers in the nation. I would encourage
others to embark upon the National Board Certification process."
-Tina M. Bozeman
"I became a National Board Certified Teacher in Early/Middle
Childhood/Physical Education in 2001. The process was new and I was not
very well informed about the whole thing when I decided to accept the
challenge. Many times during the actual process of gathering artifacts
and writing narratives, I wanted to throw in the towel. I think that's
why the dollar amount attached to the process is so high, so you will
think twice or three times before quitting. Even though I became very
frustrated during the certification process, it was the best thing I
have done professionally to evaluate myself and my teaching. I
recognized strengths and weaknesses and I believe became a better
teacher."
